 Blow
a flying kiss at a low-flying cloud. Find your way
thrugh the blinding, cool mists. Feast your eyes to
the greenest hills and valleys. Fell the manicured
tea plants, stretching to as far as eyes can see.
Smell the royal spice of cardamom. Set at an altitude
of 6000 ft in Idukki district, Munnar was the favored
summer resort of the erstwhile British rulers in the
colonial days. Unending expanse of tea plantations
- pristine valleys and mountains- exotic species of
flora and fauna in its wild sanctuaries and forests
- aroma of spice scented cool air - yes! Munnar has
all these and more. Enjoy the sight of cardamom plants,
perhaps for the first time in a tourist’s life.
Watch coffee beans dancing on their trees. Observe
long stretches of Neelakurinji plants, which bloom
only once in 12 years, when Munnar would turn a breath-taking
blue.
